It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

New Stuff

Sofar my 3rd week in Asia,
my 2nd in Japan, beceause I had a week-long trip to South-Korea inbetween.

I will not bother You with too many details. But I returned with a new old toy: a Bessa R rangefinder cam found the way into my hands.
The first film is already developed, but due to a minor IT problem, I am not able to read the CD with the scans. So please be patient until I will post the pictures.

Yesterday I got my certificate of alien registration card, short my alien registration. It is like an ID-card, but only for of course registered aliens.
I knew already that I am an alien, but now it is official

Regarding my accomodation things are going forward, so that I hopefully will get my keys or in this case my access-card end of the month. Tomorrow I will go an visit the IKEA not far from here. Not really for shopping the furniture I need, but more for some small things and to check it out.

The weather is still hot (30-36deg C), but at last the humidity went down a bit.
And it will stay this hot for the next weeks, thanks to El Nina..
